Initially, your not going to make a lot of money off the internet, but most startups often take a year at least before they start to turn a profit.  And that, doesn’t take into account your initial investment.  One thing nice about running an online business, is that’s it’s possible to spend very little money to get going.  That’s assuming of course you already have a computer, and a internet connection.  While those items will cost a bit to get started, most people already have them anyway, so your already one step down the road.

Probably one of the biggest hurdles I’ve found to making money online, is that there are just too many people with too many ideas that you can go with.  It’s really a major distraction.  Your almost better off, not knowing anything, and learning one system.  That way you can focus on the task at hand and concentrate on building your business.  I think in the early days, it’s probably good to spend a few months just reading, and learning as much as yo can about the different ways to make money from the internet.  But, at some point you need to make a decision and pick a business model that looks financially feasible to you.  Also be sure you pick one that seems both ethical and enjoyable for you.

While there are literally dozens of legal ways to make money online, some of them may seem shadier than others.  After having dabbled in more than a few of them, I must admit that straight and narrow is the way to go.  In spite of what some people may tell you online, it is quite possible to make an honest living online in a way that allows you to sleep well at night.  I know I do.
